VMA Ballet Associates

Based at our studios in Billingshurst, VMA Ballet Associates is a vocational Sunday ballet school running approximately twice a month for aspirational young dancers who wish to progress to full-time training or improve their ballet training.

The VMA Ballet Associates programme aims to unlock each student’s full potential by providing a comprehensive syllabus in a nurturing and supportive learning environment. Students will receive training in the following areas:

Classical technique in line with the highest vocational expectations
Body Conditioning through Progressing Ballet Technique
Pointe Work
Classes with guest teachers in Contemporary, Character, Classical Greek, National and more.

Vocational Ballet Training

Students will study the Intermediate Foundation Ballet syllabus.

PBT

Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) is an innovative body-conditioning and strengthening programme that has been designed to enhance students' technique by focusing on training the muscle memory required for each exercise in all forms of dance.

Pointe Work

Pointe technique is one of the most iconic element of ballet. Pointe technique is designed to make the ballet dancer appear weightless, light-footed and graceful while jumping and appearing to defy gravity.

Workshop

Each session we will run a workshop. This may be another classical style such as Character, Greek or National dance, or may be in Lyrical or Classical Ballet repertoire.
