Miss Victoria Freeman-White

Principal & Teacher

Miss Vicky established VMA Dance in 2012 after she graduated from Italia Conti Arts Centre with a three-year Performance Arts Diploma. After graduating Miss Vicky worked professionally as a dancer and taught for Dynamic Performing Arts and Dynamic Tots as well as establishing herself as the Ballet and Dance teacher at Pennthorpe School. This was where VMA first started as Saturday morning classes in the village of Rudgwick. Vicky continues to teach Ballet and Dance at Pennthorpe School, Downsend Pre-Prep, Glenesk School and Billingshurst Primary.

Vicky loves teaching dance to all ages and thoroughly enjoys sharing her knowledge in dance, drama & singing to others.

Vikki qualified with a BA (Honours) in Contemporary Dance at Trinity Laban in 2015 and completed her MA in Performance as part of Mapdance Company at Chichester University in 2016. Vikki is a performer and teacher with dance company Magical Minds. They are currently touring around London raising awareness on mental health.

Teaching through the means of dance has been a stimulating and rewarding process and has furthered her love of working with children.

Miss Verity Penn

Ballet Teacher - Downsend Pre-Prep Epsom

Verity started training at a young age and studied a variety of styles. She became an Associate with the Urdang Academy at the age of 14 and continued to train there full time, graduating in 2010 with a National Diploma in Professional Dance.

Verity performed with 'Co_Motion' a contemporary/ballet company for 2 years and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Alongside the performing work, Verity studied at Italia Conti Arts Centre, gaining her ISTD teaching qualifications in Ballet, Tap and Modern. More recently, Verity has furthered her teacher training and now holds Licentiate qualifications in both Modern and Tap.

Having taught at a variety of dance schools, Verity is delighted to be working for VMA Dance. She hopes to pass on her knowledge and passion for dance to all the students, as well as developing their theatrical technique and vocabulary.

Miss Sophie Siney

Teacher

Sophie was one of VMA Dance's very first pupils. She began dancing as a toddler and has not stopped since

Sophie has recently gained her Level 3 in Dance Leadership and had previously gained her Level 2.

Sophie has been teaching Modern, Tap and Ballet at VMA Dance since September on a Saturday morning.

Miss Gemma Versteeg

Musical Theatre Teacher

Gemma started in am-dram at a young age and still performs in local productions.  She belonged to the man in the moon drama group and through college won awards in coral speaking.  She joined VMA as a teacher in 2019, teaching the Musical theatre classes,  which gives her a chance to combine her knowledge of child development gained through management of nursery schools, after school and holiday clubs.  Gemma holds a NVQ in playwork and a diploma in child psychology, she also used her knowledge to finish her bachelors open degree with her final project focusing on child psychology.

Gemma loves working with the VMA 'family.  Musical theater is a chance to help develop a child's confidence of performing.  Which gives a good platform for all areas of life.   There are children who come in and don't want to talk in their first lesson, who months later stand up and sign and act in front of a room full of people.  It is great to see these children blossom.
