Miss Victoria Freeman-White
Principal & Teacher
Miss Vicky established VMA Dance in 2012 after she graduated from Italia Conti Arts Centre with a three-year Performance Arts Diploma. During this time Miss Vicky attained her Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) Diploma in Dance Education (DDE) in Ballet, Tap and Modern Theatre. Alongside her ISTD training Miss Vicky also holds a Professional Certificate in Education (PCE) with the University of Greenwich. She is also registered to enter candidates for exams with the British Theatre Dance Association (BTDA).
Whilst at college Vicky taught at The Montford Stage & Dance Academy in Kingston, teaching Tap and Street Dance.
After graduating Miss Vicky worked professionally as a dancer and taught for Dynamic Performing Arts and Dynamic Tots as well as establishing herself as the Ballet and Dance teacher at Pennthorpe School. This was where VMA first started as Saturday morning classes in the village of Rudgwick. Vicky continues to teach Ballet and Dance at Pennthorpe School, Downsend Pre-Prep, Glenesk School and Billingshurst Primary.
Vicky loves teaching dance to all ages and thoroughly enjoys sharing her knowledge in dance, drama & singing to others.
Vicky, like all VMA Dance teachers, holds her full DBS enhanced disclosure, Public Liability Insurance and First Aid certificate. She also continues to develop her teaching by attending CPD courses and updates her Safeguarding and Child Protection Policies regulary.
Miss Amy Matthews
Amy studied Musical Theatre at Performance Preparation Academy (PPA), Guildford.
Whilst training, Amy played numerous roles including Cinderella in Into the Woods and Campbell in the Drama school premiere of Bring It On – The Musical (Electric Theatre).
Theatrical credits include Shell in the London revival of the Pet Shop Boys’ Closer to Heaven (Union Theatre), the title role in Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs (Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, Guildford), and Ensemble/ understudy Wicked Queen in Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs (Harlequin Theatre, Redhill), Lead Vocalist in Miami Pride (Miami pride)
Amy has made numerous concert appearances including Lead Vocalist in West End on the Rock (Jersey Opera House) and Guest Vocalist at the 2013 MTV Charity Ball.
Most recently, Amy performed as Lead Vocalist onboard Celebrity Summit in Live, Chandelier and Soundtrack and has just returned after performing in the production shows onboard the Celebrity Solstice.

Miss Katie Schoen
Katie Schoen is a dance teacher and choreographer from Surrey. Katie trained at Bird college graduating with a National Diploma in professional dance and musical theatre.
She then went on to work as a parade dancer in Disney land Paris, and later embarked on several contracts as a production dancer/trapeze aerialist for Celebrity X cruises. She was then promoted to 'aerial captain' for her final cruise contract.
Katie has choreographed for summer youth projects at the Electric theatre in Guildford including shows 'Aladdin' Easter 2017 and 'Singing in the Rain' summer 2017. Also a production of ‘West side Story’ in Belfast summer 2018.
Katie coaches children at various dance schools in the Surrey and West Sussex area. She enters children for dance festivals and examinations in Jazz, Ballet and Tap.
Katie likes to use all the skills she learnt as a professional dancer in her teaching practise. And she throughly enjoys passing on her passion for dance to children.
Miss Vikki Mead
Vikki qualified with a BA (Honours) in Contemporary Dance at Trinity Laban in 2015 and completed her MA in Performance as part of Mapdance Company at Chichester University in 2016. During MAP she worked with choreographers such as Richard Alston and Liz Aggiss, which drove her passion for performance and collaboration.
Vikki is a performer and teacher with dance company Magical Minds. They are currently touring around London raising awareness on mental health.
Teaching through the means of dance has been a stimulating and rewarding process and has furthered her love of working with children.
Miss Verity Penn
Ballet Teacher - Downsend Pre-Prep Epsom
Verity started training at a young age and studied a variety of styles. She became an Associate with the Urdang Academy at the age of 14 and continued to train there full time, graduating in 2010 with a National Diploma in Professional Dance.
Verity performed with 'Co_Motion' a contemporary/ballet company for 2 years and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Alongside the performing work, Verity studied at Italia Conti Arts Centre, gaining her ISTD teaching qualifications in Ballet, Tap and Modern. More recently, Verity has furthered her teacher training and now holds Licentiate qualifications in both Modern and Tap.
Having taught at a variety of dance schools, Verity is delighted to be working for VMA Dance. She hopes to pass on her knowledge and passion for dance to all the students, as well as developing their theatrical technique and vocabulary.
Miss Jenny Stow
Guest Teacher/Maternity Cover
Since graduating from Laine Theatre Arts, Jenny has had the pleasure of dancing alongside Pharrell Williams, Michael McIntyre, Robbie Williams, The Saturdays, David Walliams, Bradley Walsh, Denise Van Outen, Jamelia and Mark Ronson. As well as being a resident backing dancer on TV series 'The Voice’, she has also worked on ‘Tonight at the Palladium’, BBCs ‘The Magicians’ and numerous Royal Variety Performances.
Jenny has also perfomed at the Royal Albert Hall with ‘Anton and Erin’s Christmas Spectacular’, ‘Night of 1000 Stars’ and ‘The Jingle Belle Christmas’ which also toured Concert Halls across the UK. Her arena credits include performing at The O2, London with the ‘Sensations of White’, The MGM Grand Arena in Vegas and the Manchester Arena with Peter Kay, Paddy McGuiness and the cast of Pheonix Nights.
She has enjoyed filming for various TV commercials, featured in music videos and has danced across the world at events for Mercedes, Waitrose, Lynx, Wella, Puma and Schwarzkopf.
Jenny also assisted on ‘Mrs Browns Boys d’movie’ filmed in Dublin and helped with the dance audition process for the ‘Thursford Christmas Spectacular’ of which she was a part of for 4 years.
…More importantly than waffling on about everything she has done, her most rewarding achievement to date, has been finding a love of teaching. Jenny is a guest teacher with the ISTD, Checcetti Summer school and the Classical Ballet Academy at Arts Educational Tring. She also teaches full time students at Mountview Academy, AMTA and PPA. After being the Principal of PPA Kids for 5 years and becoming a new mummy this year, Jenny is delighted to be setting up Red Academy to inspire young talents and share her love for the performing arts. She is thrilled to be working with the children and the team at VMA.
Jenny is fully DBS checked, a licensed chaperone, first aid trained, has public liability insurance and has done her level 2 safe guarding.
