STREET DANCE

Street Dance encompasses a range of dance styles such as hip hop, commercial, funk and breakdancing. Our classes consist of a warm up, followed by technique steps, and then a fun, funky routine to popular music.

At VMA Dance we offer Street Dance classes for all ages.

Our youngest Preschool Street Dance classes are designed specifically for 2-4 year olds. We focus on building motor skills in a fun, imaginative way, learning through action songs and exciting routines.

Junior Street classes are for ages 4-7, and gives students the chance to learn new skills and tricks for their routine. In these classes, routines are taught and performed alongside students' favourite pop songs or songs from popular films.

Senior Street offers those aged 8-12 the chance to work as a group and create team pieces as well as a solo routine, utilising everything they have learned so far.

For ages 12+ we have our Teen Street classes. In this class, we encourage students to explore all aspects of Street Dance including Commercial (like you see dancing behind pop stars), Hip-Hop and Break Dancing.

Senior and Teen students at VMA Dance have the opportunity to take BTDA Medal Tests in this genre.
